HEED Health Education organises and guarantees all clinical placement hours, supported by Medical Edge Australia. You’ll complete 80 hours of supervised placement in real-world healthcare environments, ensuring you graduate with confidence and hands-on experience.

Conditions apply to the guaranteed placement with Medical Edge Australia. Placement is not available to students currently holding managerial roles within competing organisations. Students already employed or volunteering with another organisation are expected to complete their placement hours with that organisation. Placement availability is subject to geographical location and MEA’s operational areas. HEED Health Education and MEA will endeavour to provide access to placement shifts; however, students, particularly those in rural or remote areas, may be required to travel to access these placements.

Minimum Age: 17 years

Residency: Australian Citizen, PR, or eligible visa for domestic study

Driver’s Licence: Valid (open licence preferred, P plates acceptable)

Physical Fitness: Must be capable of patient handling, CPR on floor, lifting equipment/patients, and working in confined spaces

Current CPR & First Aid Certificate

Working with Children’s Check

National Police Clearance

Vaccinations as required (e.g. flu, COVID, employer-specific)

LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy, Digital) Skills Assessment: Required prior to enrolment

Technology Requirements: Laptop/PC, MS Office 2010+, internet, smartphone, email, backup storage, headset/speakers

Textbooks: Approx. $500 (e-text or hard copy, supplier details provided at enrolment)

You may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if you have relevant experience in one or more units of competency in the healthcare field or a related industry.
 
If you have completed a prior Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification, you may be able to apply for a Credit Transfer (CT).

Certificate IV in Health Care prices are as follows:    
Full Course fee was $6,250, now:  
  • Interest-free payment plan, course fee: $5,625    
  • Paying in full, course fee: $5,312.50    
If you opt for the interest-free payment plan option, you will pay an initial deposit of $825 and the remaining balance in any of the following options:    
  • Option 1 – $80/week x 60    
  • Option 2 – $160/fortnight x 30
